Original Soundtracks

The following collection of videos, all have my original music. My husband Peter Bloch, is a videographer and licensed Drone Pilot.

We spent the month of February 2019 on the South Island of New Zealand, traveling along the west and north coasts, which are almost entirely covered with national parks with trails and rivers and mountains and glaciers. It is an absolutely stunning and unique place in the world. I returned from the trip with many hours of wonderful video clips, and it has been a huge challenge to edit all that down to a watchable and integrated movie. At 9 minutes, this is longer than my typical movie, but trying to encompass such a huge and varied place ca't be rushed. The music was created and recorded by my wife, Kathy Lowe Bloch. the lyrics are the Maori names of various places we visited or birds that we saw. The ambient sounds between sections of the song are birds and cicadas, recorded while we were deep in the forests. The locations we visited were Wanaka, Fiordlands, Mount Cook, the coastal road from Haast to Westport and the north coast in the Abel Tasman park and Marlborough Sounds. All of this was captured with my Mavic 2 Pro drone, a Sony a6500 camera and my iPhone X. The editing was done in Final Cut Pro X.

This movie will make you smile! My wife Kathy Lowe comes up with some wild and creative ideas for movies. This one is another in a series of films that feature her canoe costumes. The location is a small lake in Maine called Keoka, and the four "Noodlers" are Kathy, her sisters Susie Lowe-Stockwell and Kim Lowe-Beaton, plus Laurie Cuccinello. All of this was filmed with a Phantom 4 Pro drone and edited in Final Cut Pro X. The music is written and performed by Kathy. The instrument you hear is something I built from PVC tubes - in the vein of what Blue Man Group uses in their performances. We call it "The Ursula" because I built it on the day that the wonderful author Ursula Leguin passed away. She would have loved the mysterious tribal sounds that The Ursula produces! One last note: watch carefully at the 9 second mark, as a smallmouth bass jumps completely out of the water. Every creature wants to get in on the act!

There is nothing like fall foliage in New England. The colors are so surreal and gorgeous, nature puts on a fabulous show. This movie is a compilation of my best clips from the last few weeks, and it is accompanied by a song that my wife Kathy Lowe wrote and recorded, specifically inspired by and for this production. Locations are all within a half hour of New London, NH, including Mount Kearsarge, Clark Pond, Newbury, the sugar orchard behind Twin Lake Village, Little Lake Sunapee, Homeland Cemetery in Bristol, and North Sutton. This was filmed with a Phantom 4 Pro drone and edited in Final Cut Pro X. You can see a lot more of my work at https://earthaerialproductions.com

Kathy Lowe's new song is a round, created to support the theme of the Northfield Conference for this coming June's gathering. Most of this was filmed with a Phantom 4 Pro drone.

Winter has come, and settled in for the long run! And it is always beautiful, especially from the new vantage point of my flying camera. This movie is a collection of shots from the first half of winter 2016-2017, all clips that have not been included in my other more-focused movies about specific places or features. The music is from my wife, Kathy Lowe, sung into the overflow valve of the local million-gallon water storage tank. All the reverb and drip sounds are natural.

"A Little Bit of Peace" is a new song composed and performed by Kathy Lowe. It was filmed with a Phantom 4 Pro flying camera.

Autumn is the most colorful, surreal and dramatic time of year in New Hampshire – there is simply nothing like it. The drone allows us to float above and right thru the middle of the foliage, capturing this magical season in a way that is otherwise impossible for anyone but the birds. This is the 3rd Autumn that I have filmed with my drones. I created and shared five "chapters" as the season progressed, and I have now collected the best shots from all the chapters to make this "Best Of" compilation. The locations are too many to list here, but all are in central New Hampshire. You can refer back to the individual chapters to get more info on where these places are, you can find them and much more at https://vimeo.com/album/1786248. The music was written and recorded by my talented wife Kathy Lowe. I originally used it in my 2016 "best of Autumn" compilation, and it is so perfect that I had to dust it off and bring it back this year. I used two drones to film this: a Phantom 4 Pro and a Mavic 2 Pro. Editing was done in Final Cut Pro X.

My wife Kathy Lowe has written a new song to celebrate the New Year. The lyrics include meaningful messages, and we also had a crazy-fun time filming this music video. The weather was perfect, the wind-carved snow was surreal, and the mood was festive. Thanks to the Paddlers: Roger Bloch, Shamus Heffernin, Alayna Josz, and Kathy. This was filmed with a Phantom 4 Pro drone and an iPhone X on a handheld stabilizer gimbal, and edited in Final Cut Pro X.

In honor of the upcoming marriage of our son Tom to the amazing Ali Hare, my wife Kathy Lowe-Bloch has created a song and accompanying movie that is both humorous and touching. It tells the story of Ali and Tom's relationship, from Bates College to the Keewaydin Camps to the present time. The lyrics are inspired by an old Keewaydin song called "The Trip In," and the music is of course from "Battle Hymn of the Republic." I filmed with a Phantom 4 Pro drone, a nice point and shoot camera, and my iPhone.

Kathy Lowe has spent 25 years developing her outside-the-box "Petreflections" concept. She finds these magical reflections in still water, then turns them 90 degrees so you can see her amazing animal friends. She also has a live multimedia theatre production called "Petreflections Live," with masks that she made that bring six of her characters to life. Now we have taken the cast of Petreflections Live out in to the wilds of the outdoors! The song is part of the live show, and is also on her album "Chants Awakening." I am fortunate to have such a creative and soulful person in my life as my wife. Filmed with a Phantom 4 Pro flying camera in February, 2017

A Christmas treat, with music composed and performed by Kathy Lowe. The visuals are simultaneously surreal and completely real. Filmed with a Phantom 4 Pro flying camera. Note: there was an earlier version of this movie that had audio issues.

A collaboration combining the music of singer/songwriter Kathy Lowe and "flying camera" videographer Peter Bloch. Filmed with a Phantom 4. Check out more of Kathy's music on your favorite streaming service, or kathylowemusic.com
